What is PVC?

PVC is polyvinyl chloride and according to Wikipedia, is the third most produced plastic material. When you hear PVC, you might think of white piping that is used for plumbing. The Environmental Costs of BPA

From the fact that PVC is a petroleum product to the creation of harmful dioxins and heavy metals, to the difficulty in recycling and disposing of PVC, this product is riddled with environmental problems. PVC also leaches harmful chemicals into the direct environment, meaning the users. This means when your three-year-old puts that BPA-containing rubber duckie into their mouth, they are introducing chemicals that can harm their long-term health directly into their bodies. We can and will be, discussing at length,  the dangers of PVC and their endocrine interrupting functions, and their suspected connection to autism. But pointing out a problem is only half the battle, we must also come up with solutions. One solution to the problems caused by PVC and BPA is TPU.
